Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows SRC students, faculty, and staff to borrow materials that we do not have from another library. If we don't have something you need in the Russell Learning Resource Center, you can request it through ILL and we will look to see if we can borrow it from another library.
Through ILL you can request:
The SRC library uses and belongs to a consortia of Central Illinois libraries sharing a library automation system. Which means, we share our catalog with other libraries in the area. The catalog, called RSAcat, is named after the consortia, Resource Sharing Alliance (RSA).
Here's an overview of some of what RSAcat can do for you:
Illinois Library Delivery Service (ILDS) is a courier service that transports library materials between participating Illinois academic and research libraries to support interlibrary resource sharing in the state of Illinois.
SRC typically receives deliveries from ILDS on a daily basis from public, academic and research libraries around the state of Illinois. If we are receiving materials from libraries outside of the state of Illinois, the wait will be longer depending on if it comes through USPS, UPS or FedEx. Typical wait time is between 5-10 days. If it takes longer, do not hesitate to reach out to ILL staff for questions.
Once the LRC has received them item from ILDS or through another avenue, the LRC staff will notify the student, faculty member, or staff that the requested item is available for pickup. If the student, faculty member or staff is not on the Canton campus, LRC staff will then route the items through the inter-campus delivery system for pickup. On the Macomb campus, items can be picked up in the Macomb LRC; and on the Havana and Rushville campuses, materials can be picked up at the front desk.
